Appointment of Adjunct Professor

Professor Dongxiao WANG of South China Sea Institute of Oceanology (SCSIO) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was appointed as an Adjunct Professor of the Department of Oceanography and Marine Geology of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences & Technology. He is an eminent scientist in the field of physical oceanography of the State Key Laboratory of Tropical Oceanography and Head of the Physical Oceanography Division of SCSIO.

Also, he is serving as an Editorial Board member for ten international journals. In categorization of scientists according to the contribution they have made to science, professor Dongxiao Wang has been kept among the best fifty scientists in China.

Under the leadership of Professor Dongxiao, SCSIO signed four memorandums with the University of Ruhuna which includes exchange of academic staff and students, establishment of a fully automated weather station, establishment of a joint observatory for wave and tidal measurements and Research Centre of Tropical Oceanography and establishment of China-Sri Lanka Joint Centre for Education and Research (CSL-CER).
