RMIT Delegation Visits the University of Ruhuna

A delegation from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia, visited the University of Ruhuna on 29th September 2025 to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two universities.

The team of Ten members headed by Prof. Calum Drummond, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) of RMIT, Prof. Sujeeva Setunge, Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation attended the meeting and explore the opportunities for joint research and Postgraduate programs in many subjects disciplines.

Senior Professor P. A Jayantha , Vice Chancellor of University of Ruhuna, Deans of the Facultites, Director of CINTA, Board of Management of CINTA and Academic staff members from Faculty of Engineering attended the meeting. Prof. Sudhira De Silva from Faculty of Engineering coordinated the event.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the laboratories of the Faculty of Science and the China–Sri Lanka Joint Centre for Education and Research. The visit concluded with a cultural show organized by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Ruhuna.
