Opening Ceremony of the Renovated Ruhuna University Center for IT (RUCIT) – August 1st, 2025

The official opening ceremony of the renovated Ruhuna University Center for Information Technology (RUCIT) was held on August 1st, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the University’s continued commitment to enhancing its digital infrastructure and IT services.

The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, Senior Professor P.A. Jayantha, as the Chief Guest. It was further enriched by the participation of Deans of Faculties, Directors of university centers and units, the Registrar, Bursar, Librarian, and other distinguished academic and administrative staff.

Engineers from the University’s Maintenance Division, along with representatives from the Sisili Projects and other invited stakeholders, were also in attendance—acknowledging their instrumental roles in the successful renovation and development of the center.

The newly renovated RUCIT now offers a modernized and well-equipped facility designed to support teaching, learning, and operational functions, fostering innovation and digital transformation across the University.
