Qualifications:

• B. Engineering Technology Degree in Electro-mechanical Instrumentation and Process Control/ Mechatronics/Robotics/Automation/Automobile/ Electronics

         or –

• B. Sc. Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering /Electronic Engineering/ Mechatronics.

         or –

• B. Sc. Special degree in Physics/ Engineering Physics/ Computational Physics/Applied Physics

        or -

• B. Sc. General degree with Physics or Electronics as a subject.

         or –

• Any other discipline relevant to the Department.

Post of Temporary Research Assistant
Faculty of Science - University of Ruhuna

Applications are invited from suitable qualified candidates for the following post in the Faculty of Science of the University of Ruhuna.

Post: Temporary Research Assistant (01 vacancy)
Qualifications:
1. Graduate holding a Bachelor of Computer Science or BSc (General) Degree with Computer science as a subject
2. Undergraduate with a pending result for the BSc (General) Degree.

AND

3. Experience in web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and Python. Knowledge of the Laravel framework will be considered an added advantage.
4. With Knowledge of Database Management Systems (DBMS) and networking.
5. Good analytical, Problem-solving, and Communication skills. 

Responsibilities:
1. Analyze and document existing manual workflows to identify opportunities for digital optimization.
2. Contribute to the design, development, and testing of internal web-based systems.
3. Assist in configuring and maintaining database-driven applications and ensuring network connectivity.
4. Research and apply cybersecurity best practices to ensure secure system implementation.
5. Prepare technical documentation, progress updates, and presentations.

Period of the Assignment: The position is initially for a one-year period.
