The University of Ruhuna is pleased to announce the visit of the USBus (Mobile American Space), an initiative of the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka, on 17–18 June 2026. The USBus is designed to bring educational and cultural opportunities directly to students through a range of interactive and engaging activities.

    During the two-day programme, students will have the opportunity to participate in sessions focused on leadership development, STEM education, American English language learning, and entrepreneurship. The USBus experience will provide access to innovative digital tools, educational resources, and hands-on learning activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.

    This programme aims to equip students with valuable skills and global perspectives that will support their academic, professional, and personal development. Participation is completely free of charge, with all activities and resources provided by the U.S. Embassy. All students are warmly invited to visit the USBus and take advantage of this unique learning opportunity.

    The 14th Faculty of Medicine Academic Sessions (FMAS) 2026 is scheduled for the 13th of May 2026 at the TW Wikramanayake auditorium, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna. This year, the theme “Beyond prescription: Navigating therapy in Medical Practice” highlights the countless measures that contribute to patient well-being, which is not just limited to what is merely written in a prescription.

    The keynote speaker is Dr. Pushpa Punchihewa, a senior consultant paediatrician who has been an integral part of child health in Galle for many years in the past.  The symposium of the sessions will cover a wide range of subjects that come under the umbrella of a broad, timely topic, “Behind the screen: Addiction, Resistance & Dependence.”
