The Security Division of the University of Ruhuna is committed to providing a safe, Secure and peaceful environment for students, Academic and non – academic staff, Visitors and all members of the university community, while safeguarding university property and assets.

Operating under the administrative supervision of the Vice – Chancellor and the registrar, the security division responsible for maintaining the security of all university premises including faculties, Hostels and supporting the university the university administrative and community activities. 

The Division comprises the internal university security officers and the private security service, working collaboratively to provide comprehensive 24-hour security coverage though a structured shift-Duty system led by the chief security officer. The Division includes security inspectors, University security guards and Private security staff, who are dedicated to delivering professional, Responsive and reliable security services.

The security division adopts a proactive approach to university security through access control, patrols, Emergency preparedness, incent response and close coordination with the Sri Lanka Police, Fire & Rescue Services and other relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the university community.
