Target Group

Target group will include the following.

 (a) Students who sat for G.C.E (A/L) examination in 2004

 (b) Students who sat for G.C.E (A/L) examination in 2005

 (c) Students who are currently studying in A/L classes in southern regionn

  (d) Teachers engaged in teaching IT related subjects in schools in Tsunami affected arears.

The categories (a) and (b) are considered because those students are the mostly Tsunami affected group and they could not face for the examinations, could not complete or gave up their studies because of Tsunami issues. It is also worth for A/L students in schools in category (c) to follow an information technology related course in order to find a job in a growing IT field. According to the information received from schools in the southern region, most schools have received computers, but no courses are conducted because of lack of qualified staff in IT. This course will provide computer skills for a limited number of teachers to educate students.
