Question         : How Tsunami affected you?

Answer            : Our house was partially damaged and we lost some of our properties due to Tsunami disaster.

                          

Question         : How did you get to know about this course? 

Answer            : I got to know about this course through my school.

 

Question         : What did you gain from this course?

Answer            : This course is  very good and I have no hesitation to say that RIITS course is far better than other computer courses conducted by  many private institutions by getting large sum of money. I have  an idea of  following a computer course when I was studying in  Grade 4.  But, I couldn’t attend a course due to lack of money. Truly, this course helped me to uplift my mentality. Although we got different aids and help to build up our lives after Tsunami, we didn’t   get any opportunities  to be involved in any educational programs. RIITS program was the only program that I have come across to build up my life in educational perspective. Actually, I participated in this program with more encouragement and enthusiasm. I worked hard and got through the course with a merit pass and I got a computer as a gift from IFS. My knowledge was opened to a vast knowledge base relating to the field of Information Technology and also I learned how    to work  on time during the course.

 

Question         : What are you doing at the moment and how this RIITS course helped/assist in your current position?

Answer            : At the moment, I’m working as a Hardware Engineer at Power Net, Maradana. Prior to my current position, I worked as a Teacher/Secretary at IPARD e-center at Thalpae while following RIITS course.  During this time, I developed a course curriculum for IPARD e-center from the course material that I got from RIITS course and taught for the students by using the course material which I got from the RIITS course. When I resigned from this position at IPARD e-center, I introduced Ms. Ishani Ranaweera for the same position who also completed the RIITS course. Now, she is providing her services well for that institution as a Teacher/Secretary.

                        The knowledge I gained through RIITS course was greatly helped me in activities in the job I'm currently involved in and the job I was previously done. The key supporter to get the position as a Hardware Engineer was the certificate that I obtained from this RIITS course.
