The Department of Computer Science, and the Computer Unit of the University of Ruhuna, are jointly conducting the Awareness Course in Computer Technology (ACCT) as an external course. Course Duration is 80 hours and Course will be conducted between 8.30a.m. to 5.30 p.m on Saturday or Sunday (8 hours per day) (more about external courses)

Objectives

To develop human resource with demanding ICT skills
To increase employability of the participants
To offer opportunity to people especially from southern region
To provide the opportunity to acquire ICT knowledge from a qualified faculty
To give hands-on experience in modern computer laboratories

The course would be suitable for all levels of employees who wish to improve the day to day work using ICT as well as young adults who wish to improve ICT skills.

Course Contents

General Computer Principles
Introduction to Operating Systems
Application Software Packages (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Database Management Systems (using Access)
Usage of Internet Services (Email, Web)
Setting up a new PC
PC H/W Maintenance and Assembling
Computer Networks

Course Fees

A sum of Rs. 12,500/= will be charged from each participant. The total fee should be paid in full at the time of registration.
