The Main Library of the University is located at the Wellamadama Complex, housed in three storied building constructed according to a typical Dutch architectural design. It is the most prominent building you will come across as you enter the Wellamadama Complex and the newly located Buddha statue is at the entrance to the Library. It provides many facilities for its readers with a seating capacity for over 300 readers.
The current collection of books at the library totals to more than 140,000 volumes covering all aspects of academic activities at the campus. The initial collection was mainly built through significant donations from the Asia Foundation, the British Council, the Netherlands Literature Programme, Asia Development Bank and Japanese Foundation. The collection at the main library comprises mainly of books on Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences and Social Sciences. The Library also subscribes to approximately 300 journals. A collection of local history and a few other special collections are among the books available.

Library Resource Centre
The Library Resource Centre provides following facilities Video Centre - Facilitates a group of 12 users at a time Audio Centre - Facilitates 12 individual users at a time Computer Lab - 20 users can occupy at a time Library Auditorium - can be used for 80 users with the modern electronic facilities.
