The
Cultural Centre of the University of Ruhuna is devoted for promoting and
facilitating creative and artistic talents of the university community
and for uplifting academic work in the fields of Arts and Culture. The
Cultural Centre comprises two sub sections namely the Aesthetic Unit and
the Research Unit.
Aesthetic Unit offers following courses:
Dancing
Drama
Oriental Music
Photography
Western Music
Paintings and Sculptures
Students can get the registration for any of the above courses and no
pre -requisites are required.
Major Areas of the Research Unit:
1.
Conducting research on literature, Folklore, Anthropology and
Traditional Arts and Crafts.
2. Publishing research and academic works
3.
Producing audio and video documentaries related to art and culture
